Downgrades and Removals
We have the right to investigate, downgrade or revoke any FBO from the Safe to Trade Register that brings the programme into disrepute.
This may include, but is not limited to, the following reasons:
- Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) score of 0,1 or 2 in England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
- Food Hygiene Information Scheme (FHIS) Fail in Scotland.
- Food business operator subject to enforcement action for significant non-compliances with food safety requirements that relate to the Standard.
- Persistent and justified low Safe to Trade consumer feedback ratings.
- Customer complaints indicating unacceptable practice.
- Imminent risk identification.
You must notify us at the earliest opportunity if you are subject to enforcement action, or receive a poor FHRS / FHIS outcome.
Where FBO certification is revoked the Safe to Trade Primary Authority will be informed.
The FBO has the right to appeal any downgrade or removal.
