Complaints and Appeals

Safe to Trade is fair and impartial. Certification Bodies (CBs), Food Business Operators (FBOs) and consumers are encouraged to provide feedback. FBOs should submit appeals and  complaints to the CB using the following form. The timescales FBOs and CBs must follow are detailed in the table below.

If an FBO disagrees with the outcome of an appeal or complaint conducted by the CB, they can appeal to Safe to Trade by emailing details of the case to info@safetotrade.com. An investigation will be conducted by Safe to Trade and an outcome resolution will be approved by at least one member of the IGB. The outcome will be communicated to all interested parties within 21 days of the case being closed.


Whilst the case is open the status of the FBO on the Safe to Trade register will be 'In Review'.
